How to change Headline and Slogan on Joomla version 2.5 / 1.6 / 1.7

What is Headline and slogan text?

Headline and slogan text is the very first paragraph of your website. It is visible on the header of your web page and describes your whole website. On the headline and slogan you should write the title of your company, website or blog. All our themes comes with this feature, as it is very important for optimization of your website for search engines. These lines should have keywords, important for your web page. Headline paragraph has H1 tag and slogan paragraph has H2 tag. This is also important for website SEO optimization, as by these tags search engine knows the importance of your keyword on page.

I downloaded Joomla 2.5 / 1.6 / 1.7 template from your website, what should I do to change Headline and slogan text?

First you have to login to your administration account of your website. By Joomla default settings, you should navigate to yoursite.com/administrator and enter login details here. Please note, that if you want to change these settings you should login as super administrator.

Step 1

When logged on your administrator panel go to "Extensions" menu tab and click "Template manager".

Step 2

Under "Styles" tab, You will see a list of all templates, installed on your website. Choose the template, that you've downloaded from us and click on the name of the template.

Step 3

On the right side of the template manager: Edit style window, you will find "Basic options" block with Two lines, where you can change Headline and slogan text. Change them to the text you want and new Headline and slogan will appear on your site.

Note:

Don't forget to set downloaded template as a default, otherwise your old or Joomla default template will be visible at the frontend of your site. To do this, under "Template manager: Styles" window make sure, that gold star is selected on the "Default" column near your downloaded template title.
